Tang calls for faster innovation

      In the morning of February 21, a mobilization meeting was hold in Xiangfan Hi-tech Zone. Tang liangzhi, the Secretary of Xiangfan Municipal Committee of the CPC, hopes the local authorities will strengthen their confidence and work persistently towards a higher goal. Municipal officials Li Xinhua, Wan Taoyuan, Gao Quanming, Yu Guoqi, Yang Xuchun and Guo guangfu attended the meeting.
      It is reported that in 2009, the Zone's total value of the industrial sector was 65.5 billion yuan, up 26 percent year-on-year; Industrial added value 18.55 billion yuan, up 48.19 percent. This year, the zone aims to reach 100 billion. To accomplish this goal, focus should be laid on improving the work in the following five aspects : service for Dongfeng, project construction, technological innovation, the capital market building and mechanism innovation.
      In automobile development, the local authorities will continue to offer strong support for Dongfeng, especially in the following aspects: DFAC's goal of 300 thousand vehicles; Dongfan Aeolus' expansion project; Dana Axle's development planning, Dongfeng's special vehicle project.
      Tang pointed out that Xiangfan Hi-tech Zone is the city's economic development leader and its authorities must enhance their sense of mission to accelerate development. He urged all sectors strengthen construction of ability of self-directed innovation, stress focal points, grasp key point and realize breakthrough based on adjusting structure, and transforming economic growth pattern.
